The Board of International Rugby League (IRL) has recommended to the members that Cameroon Rugby League XIII (CRLXIII) be elevated to the status of affiliate member. The recommendation, if accepted by the general assembly, will allow CRLXIII to join Nigeria Rugby League Association and Ghana Rugby League Federation as the third affiliate member in the Middle East – Africa region.
CRLXIII General Manager Carol Manga welcomed the success saying, » I believe it’s one thing to have dreams, but it’s another to take action and turn those dreams into a reality.
I was privileged watching young women and young men across Cameroon to achieve this exact goal, I knew their struggles, their fears and also witnessed the joy, the passion, the proud that fills their hearts on a rugby league field.
While others give up and turn around, some young women and young men push their way through and we are fortunate to be part of the most inspiring and inclusive sport in the modern world, we called Rugby League, we are hoping to see many nations throughout the Middle East Africa Rugby League to be inspired by this enormous step and together we can Rugby League into another level.
I know that this achievement is only one of many the future will bring, to Cameroon Rugby League XIII and the Middle East Africa Rugby League nations.
I would like to thank Danny K. (International Rugby League) and Remond S. (MEA Director) for their support in the past years.
To all our partners, supporters, volunteers, fans across the world (Australia, France, England, Fiji, etc…) Thank you for your support & generosity.
